Renexia, new energy for Gioiella Prisma Taranto

Renexia signs an important sponsorship agreement with one of the excellences of the Taranto area, Gioiella Prisma Taranto, the only club in southern Italy to serve in Superleague, the championship of world volleyball champions. Confirming the importance of the sustainability of internal processes and value chain, the company active in the renewable energy sector gives a new impetus and energy to sports projects in the area, starting precisely with the volleyball club.
A signature with which Renexia’s bond with the city of Taranto is increasingly strengthened after the inauguration, last April 21, of Beleolico, the first marine wind farm not only in Italy but in the entire Mediterranean Sea.
TEAM SPIRIT AT THE BASIS OF EVERY SUCCESS
“We are pleased to begin this new journey alongside Gioiella Prisma Volley, the men’s Superleague team of the City of Taranto,” – comments Andrea Porchera, Head of Institutional Relations and Communication – “As a dynamic company committed to the production of new clean energy, Renexia is close to the values of sports and in particular to the team spirit that, as volleyball teaches, is the basis of every success. With this initiative, another page of synergies with the excellence of the Taranto area opens for Renexia.”
BELEOLICO, RENEXIA’S OFFSHORE WIND GEM IN TARANTO
Almost a year after the installation of the first offshore wind turbine, today the Beleolico marine wind farm is fully operational, producing clean energy to feed into the national grid. Consisting of ten turbines with a total capacity of 30 MW, the facility is capable of ensuring the production of more than 58 thousand MWh, equal to the annual needs of 60 thousand people. In environmental terms it means that, over its expected 25-year life, it will save about 730 thousand tons of CO2. An important page for the development of the renewable energy sector and for the city of Taranto, which thus takes part in the energy transition process.
